Bay View Dance Team

The Bay View Dance Team competes against other dance teams throughout Rhode Island and New England.  They also perform at Bishop Hendricken football games and Hendricken Marching Band events.  This year, the team will perform in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City and will travel to Virginia Beach, VA with the marching band for the "Music in the Parks" showcase (which includes a visit to historic Colonial Wlliamsburg.)

Who May Join:  Students in grades 9 - 12.

How Do I Join?  Tryouts for new members will be held each May for all students entering High School in the Fall.

Practice:  Members are encouraged, but not required, to attend a summer camp/clinic.  During the season, practices are usually held twice per week:  either Wednesday or Thursday and on Fridays and Saturdays before games and competitions.

Competitions:  The team selects 3 - 5 competitions to attend during January, February and March.

Awards:  The Bay View Dance Team has already enjoyed the benefits of all of their hard work at this early point in the season.  The girls won several awards at the UDA camp/clinic that they attended in New Haven, CT this past summer.  Most recently, they turned heads at the Thunderbolt Invitational and Blackstone-Millville Marching Band Competitions, where they outscored three of the most accomplished Marching Band programs in the region within the Color Guard Division. Most importantly, they continue to display exceptional camaraderie, sportsmanship and professionalism.
